Characteristics of the Family (from Kramp 1961)

Semaeostomeae inwhich the central stomach gives rise to completely separated, unbranched radiating pouches; without a ring-canal; tentacles arise from the umbrella margin between the clefts of the lappets; oral arms long, pointed, much folded.
